Soccer Game Preview: Denton vs. Grapevine

Denton hasn't had much luck against Grapevine recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Broncos will head out to square off against the Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

Denton proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by four) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a goal and slipped past Richland 2-1. Winning may never get old, but Denton sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Maksym Mohylov and Sergio Melchor scored both of Denton's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Meanwhile, Grapevine kept a clean sheet against Argyle on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Eagles 1-0. Grapevine's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

Denton's win bumped their record up to 10-5-3. As for Grapevine, their victory bumped their record up to 15-2-2.

Denton came up short against Grapevine when the teams last played on February 2nd, falling 2-0. Can the Broncos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
