Football Recap: Carlin Skates Past Virginia City with Ease

Carlin extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 5-0. They blew past the Virginia City Muckers, posting a 42-14 win. The result was nothing new for the Railroaders, who have now won four matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.

Dylan Ramirez was his usual excellent self, rushing for 274 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 11.0 yards per carry, and also picking up 36 receiving yards and one touchdown. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Landon Huntley was in the mix too, providing Carlin with three scores.

Carlin didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Virginia City to a completion percentage of just 50%. The team can thank Tryston Martinez for the heroic effort on defense: he. Carlin wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 57.9%.

Carlin's defense also made the game a nightmare for James Venable., racking up seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Ramirez and Sebastian Anthony, who racked up four sacks between them. Ramirez's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 143 rushing yards dating back to last season.

As for Virginia City, they now have a losing record of 2-3. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

When it comes to explaining why Virginia City lost, don't look at Caleb Olee. Despite the final result, he rushed for 183 yards and one touchdown while picking up 10.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 50 receiving yards and one TD.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Carlin will face off against Coleville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Virginia City, they will take on Mineral County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
