Recap: Winnfield Tigers vs. Red River Bulldogs
The Winnfield Tigers were the 20-7 winner over the Red River Bulldogs when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Winnfield's tough 26-6 loss to Red River on Friday might stick with them for a while. Winnfield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Red River got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Montreveun Smith out in front who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown. Terrell Gary also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Winnfield has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Red River, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winnfield is on the road again on Friday and play against Mansfield. As for Red River, they will face off against Many at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Many is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
