Basketball Game Preview: Carter Green Hornets vs. West Rebels

The Carter Green Hornets will face off against the West Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Carter knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matches -- so hopefully West likes a good challenge.

Carter took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Austin-East by a score of 65-56.

Meanwhile, West had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Red Rebels out 59-57.

Carter has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points over those games. As for West, they pushed their record up to 20-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Carter was able to grind out a solid victory over West when the teams last played back in December of 2019, winning 63-50. Does Carter have another victory up their sleeve, or will West turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
