Recap: Lake Brantley Patriots vs. Ocoee Knights
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Lake Brantley Patriots, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were outmatched by the Knights on the road and fell 49-14. Lake Brantley has not had much luck with Ocoee recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Ocoee's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reese Bellamy led the charge by scoring six points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Bellamy hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Paris Triplett, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Lake Brantley has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Ocoee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.
Lake Brantley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ocoee, they will square off against Apopka at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Apopka will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Ocoee is ranked 48th).
