Ropes' win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ryland Kieth, who rushed for 211 yards and three scores while picking up 11.7 yards per carry. Those 211 rushing yards gave Kieth a new career-high. Another back making a difference was Jaivyth Cruz, who rushed for 112 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries.
Ropes' run defense was locked in: Olton could only muster 2.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Cruz for the heroic effort on defense: he. Ropes didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.7.
Meanwhile, Forsan played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Wink and fell 48-14. The Buffaloes haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Although Forsan took the loss, they still got scores from Owen Bishop and Oscar Holguin.
The victory made it two in a row for Ropes and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points over those games. As for Forsan, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Ropes has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 255.5 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Forsan, though, as they've been averaging only 59.5 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Everything came up roses for Ropes against Forsan in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 44-0 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Buffaloes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
