James Burns gave up the fewest hits he has since back in April on Tuesday. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 6.2 innings pitched, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Whitmore Lake is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-10 otherwise.

Looking ahead, Burns and Whitmore Lake will head out on the road to challenge Shrine Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 224 places lower in Michigan), but they're not letting that get them down.
