Football Game Preview: Zachary Broncos vs. Central Wildcats

The Zachary Broncos will face off against the Central Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Zachary is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on Denham Springs with a sharp 44-21 victory. The win continues a trend for the Broncos in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now won eight in a row.

Tylek Lewis went supernova, rushing for 146 yards and four TDs on only 15 carries. Another player making a difference was Michael Kirby, who threw for 265 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Zachary was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 267 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, Central strolled past East Ascension with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 46-32.

Zachary's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.

Zachary couldn't quite finish off Central when the teams last played back in October and fell 35-33. Can the Broncos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
