Baseball Recap: Francis Parker's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Francis Parker was forced to take a big defeat against they on Monday, they got the better of them on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Maranatha Christian Eagles, sneaking past 8-7. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lancers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Ryan Wyly was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Francis Parker's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-8-1 when he doesn't). Joseph Jacques also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Francis Parker's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-8-1. As for Maranatha Christian, they dropped their record down to 3-17 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Francis Parker will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
