Soccer Recap: Weld Central Takes a Loss

If Weld Central was feeling good fresh off their 4-0 takedown of Elizabeth on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rebels took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagle Ridge Academy Warriors on Friday. Weld Central have struggled against Eagle Ridge Academy recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Fabian Mendoza wasn't going to let Eagle Ridge Academy walk away unscathed as he scored both of Weld Central's goals, bringing his season total up to five goals.

Weld Central's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Eagle Ridge Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Weld Central and Eagle Ridge Academy will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Rebels will square off against rival Valley at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th. Meanwhile, Eagle Ridge Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Denver Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
