Basketball Recap: Phoenix Eggleston Key Part of Team Effort in Wildcats Win

It's playoff time, and Arundel had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Severna Park Falcons 61-59. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since December 9, 2024.

Arundel got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Phoenix Eggleston out in front who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 22 boards. Those 22 rebounds gave Eggleston a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ellis Johnson, who shot 47% from the field en route to 19 points and five boards.

Arundel's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points over those games. As for Severna Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.

Looking ahead, Arundel is taking a road trip to face off against Decatur at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Decatur will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Arundel surely won't give up without a fight. Severna Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
