Basketball Game Preview: Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves vs. East Chapel Hill Wildcats

Cedar Ridge is 2-8 against East Chapel Hill since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the East Chapel Hill Wildcats at 2:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Cedar Ridge is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against Apex, falling 81-55.

Despite their defeat, Cedar Ridge saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Braeden Wilbourn, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Jacobson, who posted 13 points.

Meanwhile, East Chapel Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 74-65 to Southeast Alamance. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while the Stallions are ranked 49th).

East Chapel Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Cedar Ridge, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5.

Cedar Ridge came up short against East Chapel Hill in their previous matchup back in January, falling 35-31. Can Cedar Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
