Baseball Game Preview: St. Rita Mustangs vs. Providence Catholic Celtics

For the second straight game, St. Rita will face off against Providence Catholic. The Mustangs will face off against the Celtics at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. St. Rita has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Providence Catholic hit St. Rita with a five-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs fell 13-8 to the Celtics. Surprisingly, this marked the Mustangs' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Luke Arteaga led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Colin Quinn was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

The win (which was Providence Catholic's fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for St. Rita, their loss dropped their record down to 13-17.
