Basketball Recap: Shelbyville Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lovelady on Thursday, Shelbyville came back down to earth. The Shelbyville Dragons fell to the Lago Vista Vikings 48-42. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.

Lago Vista got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Henry Sisemore out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Sisemore has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Porter Herrod, who posted 14 points and eight rebounds.

Shelbyville's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lago Vista, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Shelbyville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-42 defeat against Wells on the 7th. As for Lago Vista, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 71-41 victory against Alto on the 7th.
