Softball Recap: Westland Takes a Loss

Big Walnut hit Westland with a nine-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars came up short against the Golden Eagles, falling 11-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 27-2 back in April.

This is the second loss in a row for Westland and nudges their season record down to 5-18. As for Big Walnut, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Westland will take on Upper Arlington at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Big Walnut, they will host Westerville Central at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warhawks will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
