Baseball Game Preview: Oneida Express vs. Camden Blue Devils

Oneida is 1-9 against Camden since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Express will welcome the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Oneida came up short against Herkimer and fell 4-1.

Sam Gaudet made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Camden, who bounced back after a loss on the road on April 10th. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Whitesboro a 3-0 shutout on Thursday. That three-run margin sets a new team best for the Blue Devils this season.

Adam Gonzalez and Bryce Rocker did most of the damage at the plate: Gonzalez went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Rocker went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most hits Gonzalez has posted since back in May of 2025.

Camden's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average this season. As for Oneida, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Oneida came up short against Camden in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, falling 5-2. Can the Express avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
