Baseball Recap: Whitehall Gets the Win

Whitehall's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Wyoming Valley West Spartans 9-7. That's more bragging rights for the Zephyrs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Nik Christman looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Seth Hoderewski and Tyler Reichenbach did most of the damage at the plate: Hoderewski scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Reichenbach scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, Hoderewski posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Tyler Sanders was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.

Whitehall now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Wyoming Valley West, their record now sits at 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitehall will host Parkland at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wyoming Valley West, they will be playing at home against Wallenpaupack Area at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
