Volleyball Recap: Cedar Springs Red Hawks vs. Kenowa Hills Knights
Cedar Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Kenowa Hills Knights. The Red Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.
The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 23-25, 25-12, 25-22.
Taylor Gunderson paced Cedar Springs' offense, picking up 13 kills. Gunderson got some help from Jessie Teesdale and her 14 assists. Gunderson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Cedar Springs' loss dropped their record down to 4-8-2. As for Kenowa Hills, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar Springs will face off against Western Michigan Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kenowa Hills, they will venture away from home to challenge North Muskegon at 5:00 p.m. on the 18th.
