Basketball Game Preview: Hopewell Titans vs. North Mecklenburg Vikings

Hopewell hasn't had much luck against North Mecklenburg recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Hopewell Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the North Mecklenburg Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Hopewell has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Friday, Hopewell didn't have too much trouble with West Mecklenburg as they won 65-51. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, North Mecklenburg waltzed into their game on Friday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 62-14 victory over the Cougars. With the Vikings ahead 36-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

North Mecklenburg's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.7 points over those games. As for Hopewell, their victory bumped their record up to 5-15.

Hopewell was taken down by North Mecklenburg 94-19 in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of North Mecklenburg's Lenise Joseph, who went 15 of 17 en route to 32 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Now that Hopewell knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
