Softball Recap: Carroll Picks Up Tenth Consecutive Win

Carroll entered their tilt with Corpus Christi Moody on Thursday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They blew past the Trojans 10-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-5 back in March.

Emerys Sanchez looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Ali Ann Deleon relieved her and did a solid job, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Avery Sauceda, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Julia Rodriguez was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

Carroll was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .314 or higher in 13 consecutive matchups.

Carroll's record now sits at 24-6-1. As for Corpus Christi Moody, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-10-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, Carroll and Corpus Christi Moody will both be playing Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial the next time they take the field. The Trojans will head out to face the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Tigers will host them at 7:30 p.m. on the 10th.
