Football Recap: Champion Takes a Loss

Champion extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 2-6. They were outmatched by the Crestview Rebels and fell 53-8. While losing is never fun, the Golden Flashes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 629th, while the Rebels are ranked 183rd).

As for Crestview, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 39.3 points this season.

Jake Noling had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 107 yards and one TD on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 175 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Wyatt Hart was in the mix as well, providing Crestview with two scores.

Coming up, Champion will square off against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Flashes will need to watch out since the Leopards have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests. As for Crestview, they will challenge Garfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels will need to watch out since the G-Men have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
