Unity Christian came tearing into Thursday's contest with 12 straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Blue Ridge Knights by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Unity Christian took both sets by at least 15 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-3, 25-10.

Their offense was headlined by Cameron Brown and Mallory Harrison, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Sadie Reiterman and her 14 assists. Harrison was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Unity Christian's win bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Blue Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

Unity Christian will take on Normal University in a tournament on Saturday. As for Blue Ridge, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th.
