Soccer Game Preview: Genoa Area vs. Lake

The Genoa Area Comets will square off against the Lake Flyers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Genoa Area is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Port Clinton on Saturday. Neither the Comets nor the Redskins could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 3-3 draw.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Lake made sure to put some goals up on the board against Northwood on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 7-4 margin over the Rangers. The result was nothing new for Lake, who have now won nine matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Lake's win bumped their record up to 10-5-1. With that draw, Genoa Area's record moves to 6-9-1.

Genoa Area might still be hurting after the 5-2 loss they got from Lake in their previous meeting back in August. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Comets were down 3-0.
