Softball Game Preview: Marionville Comets vs. Forsyth Panthers

The Marionville Comets will venture away from home to square off against the Forsyth Panthers at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. Marionville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Marionville beat Forsyth 13-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Comets.

Marionville let Annaliyah Ghan and Brooklyn Holder run wild. Ghan went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Holder went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Ghan has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Maggie Murphy was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Marionville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Forsyth only managed eight hits.

Forsyth's record now sits at 12-16. As for Marionville, they now have a winning record of 14-13.
