Baseball Recap: St. Croix Central Comes Up Short

St. Croix Central came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-1 to the Fall Creek Crickets.

St. Croix Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brecken Ponath, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

St. Croix Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Fall Creek, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

Looking ahead, St. Croix Central will host Unity at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.92 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fall Creek, they will face off against Baldwin-Woodville at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
