Baseball Game Preview: Hamburg Lions vs. Crossett Eagles

Hamburg hasn't had much luck against Crossett recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Lions will square off against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Hamburg and Monticello had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Lions fell just short of the Billies by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Lions fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Billies since on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Crossett entered their tilt with Star City on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bulldogs 3-1.

Crossett's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Hamburg, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
