Softball Recap: Sissonville Comes Up Short

Sissonville managed to slip by Independence the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Indians lost 10-3 to the Patriots on Wednesday. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2021.

Ana Soblit was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. Lydia Ellis was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Sissonville has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Independence, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Sissonville will square off against Scott at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Independence, they will challenge Greenbrier East at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
