Caleb Bates posted a new career-low in hits on Monday. He was unstoppable, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Even though Bates couldn't lead Escambia over Clay, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sadly, Bates' big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Gators' three-game streak of wins on the road.
