Riverside dropped their record down to 10-6 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of Independence by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Ram have suffered since March 19th.

As for Independence, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those three runs were actually the fewest they have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

For Independence's part, they got a great performance from Kayden Pak as she didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Pak has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Independence's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ava Riolo, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Riverside beat Independence by a score of 9-5 later that day.
