Basketball Game Preview: Banff Bears vs. Texas Christian Tigers

Banff is 0-4 against Texas Christian since January of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Banff Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Texas Christian Tigers at 6:00 p.m.

Banff is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They fell 51-41 to Family Christian. The game was a 17-17 toss-up at halftime, but the Bears couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the loss, Banff saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jayden Oriedetu dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 boards. Oriedetu is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Issac Sumpter, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 boards.

Meanwhile, Texas Christian posted their biggest win since February 2, 2024 on Friday. They breezed by The Connection School of Houston to the tune of 76-38.

Texas Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Banff, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Banff might still be hurting after the 69-47 loss they got from Texas Christian in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Banff avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
