Basketball Game Preview: Englewood Rams vs. Wolfson Wolfpack

Englewood is 2-8 against Wolfson since November of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Englewood Rams will host the Wolfson Wolfpack at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Friday, Englewood came up short against West Nassau and fell 46-34. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Englewood saw an underclassman step up: freshman Tiarra Redding went 7 of 16 on her way to 16 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Redding has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Abagail Smith, who posted eight points along with nine boards and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Wolfson unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They had to suffer through a 67-23 loss at the hands of Fletcher. While losing is never fun, the Wolfpack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 416th, while the Senators are ranked 147th).

Wolfson's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Englewood, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Englewood might still be hurting after the 59-35 defeat they got from Wolfson when the teams last played back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Wolfson's Hannah Timmerman, who put up 27 points. Now that Englewood knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time?
