Basketball Recap: Polk County Comes Up Short

Polk County lost against McMinn Central back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Polk County Wildcats lost 61-35 to the McMinn Central Chargers. The match marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Polk County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for McMinn Central, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.

Polk County will square off against Roane County at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. As for McMinn Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against William Blount at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McMinn Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully William Blount likes a good challenge.
