South Putnam came into Wednesday's matchup looking for another win against Owen Valley, but Tinsley Monroe wouldn't allow it. The Patriots walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Eagles on Wednesday thanks in part to Monroe, who had ten digs and two aces. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 13 assists per game.

If you add up the scores from across all four sets (94-89) Owen Valley actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 14-25, 25-23, 25-23.

Despite the loss, South Putnam still got an impressive performance from Lilah Holderfield, who had 31 digs. Holderfield has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more digs the last three times she's played. Elizabeth Dobson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Owen Valley and bumps their season record up to 3-6. As for South Putnam, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Owen Valley will head out to square off against Edgewood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Putnam, they will venture away from home to face off against Monrovia at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
