Basketball Recap: Kaplan Comes Up Short

Kaplan lost to Abbeville back in February of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pirates were dealt a 63-26 loss at the hands of the Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while the Wildcats are ranked 104th).

Kaplan has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-28 record this season. As for Abbeville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kaplan will square off against St. Martinville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Abbeville, they will challenge Patterson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
