Basketball Game Preview: Oelwein Huskies vs. North Fayette Valley

The Oelwein Huskies are taking a road trip to square off against North Fayette Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Last Friday, Oelwein lost to Jesup on the road by a 55-37 margin. The Huskies have struggled against the J-Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Fayette Valley). They claimed a resounding 69-30 win over Postville. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory North Fayette Valley has posted since December 10, 2024.

The win made it two in a row for North Fayette Valley and bumps their season record up to 8-6. As for Oelwein, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

Oelwein skirted past North Fayette Valley 38-36 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Will Oelwein repeat their success, or does North Fayette Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
