Football Recap: Branson Pirates vs. Neosho Wildcats
Branson and Neosho squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Branson had to settle for second. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 42-20. That makes it the first time this season the Pirates have let down their home crowd.
Neosho got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Blayne Patterson out in front who threw for 260 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. Patterson is becoming a predictor of the Wildcats' success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). Haven Plummer was Patterson's top target, picking up 92 receiving yards and three scores.
Branson's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Neosho, they moved to 6-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Branson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Neosho, they will square off against Carthage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
