Softball Recap: Westlake Comes Up Short

Westlake fell victim to Rocky River and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 11-0 to the Pirates. The Demons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Westlake's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Rocky River, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-7.

Westlake and Rocky River should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Demons (ranked 209th) will meet Valley Forge (ranked 584th) at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Rocky River will challenge Open Door Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (216 vs. 712).
