Basketball Game Preview: Notre Dame-Green Pond Crusaders vs. Minersville Battlin' Miners

The Notre Dame-Green Pond Crusaders will take on the Minersville Battlin' Miners at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Notre Dame-Green Pond knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Minersville likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, Notre Dame-Green Pond was fully in charge, breezing past Northern Lehigh 89-61. The win continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Minersville and Pottsville squared off in some playoff action two weeks ago, but Minersville had to settle for second. They fell 50-43 to the Crimson Tide.

Notre Dame-Green Pond will need to focus on slowing down Shazier Bethea, one of several Minersville players who made an impact when they last played. He to rack up 15 points and six boards. Bethea is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Bowers, who posted six points and eight rebounds.

Minersville's defeat dropped their record down to 21-4. As for Notre Dame-Green Pond, their victory bumped their record up to 20-4.
