Basketball Recap: South Takes a Loss

South played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers, falling 73-49. The Rebels were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-10.

Cuyahoga Falls' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Austin Brickley, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 14 points in addition to six assists and five boards. That's the most rebounds Brickley has posted since back in December of 2024. Martin Smith was another key player, as he made all 6 shots he took racking up 14 points.

South dropped their record down to 8-15 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Cuyahoga Falls, their record now sits at 10-13.

South does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cuyahoga Falls, they will take on Louisville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Louisville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 contests -- so hopefully Cuyahoga Falls likes a good challenge.
