Softball Recap: Naperville North Drops Season-High Score on Addison Trail

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Naperville North). They never let the Addison Trail Blazers get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Huskies considering their one-run performance the game before.

Alex Yaeger was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Wade, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Naperville North hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Naperville North is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-17 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Addison Trail, they moved to 13-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Naperville North will welcome DeKalb at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Barbs will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Huskies surely won't give up without a fight. As for Addison Trail, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Willowbrook at 4:45 p.m. The Blazers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
