West Charlotte piles up the points against West Mecklenburg

Recap: West Charlotte Lions vs. West Mecklenburg Hawks

The West Charlotte Lions waltzed into their game Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 63-29 victory over West Mecklenburg at home. With West Charlotte ahead 42-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.

West Charlotte was led to victory by Damani Day and Christian Coleman. Day scored 20 points, while Coleman scored 22 points along with three steals. The game was Coleman's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Amen Pressley was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

West Mecklenburg's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josiah Pratt, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayshaun Jones, who scored seven points.

West Charlotte's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for West Mecklenburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

West Charlotte will head out on the road to face off against Hopewell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopewell knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully West Charlotte likes a good challenge. West Mecklenburg will be home for the holidays to greet Hough at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hough is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
