Baseball Recap: Joplin Takes a Loss

If Joplin was riding high fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Marshfield on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell just short of the Willard Tigers by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Joplin's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Willard, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-6 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Willard beat Joplin by a score of 15-1 later that day.
