Basketball Game Preview: Boys Ranch Roughriders vs. Hartley Tigers

The Boys Ranch Roughriders will face off against the Hartley Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 54-22, which was the final score in Boys Ranch's tilt against Texline on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Roughriders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 929th, while the Tornadoes are ranked 310th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hartley). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Channing 73-0. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 26 points or more this season.

The win got Hartley back to even at 5-5. As for Boys Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Boys Ranch strolled past Hartley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 42-28. Does Boys Ranch have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hartley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
