Baseball Recap: Los Alamitos Comes Up Short

Los Alamitos fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Corona del Mar on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Sea Kings by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Griffins of the 8-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Easton Coffman was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). He has become a key player for Los Alamitos: the team is 5-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Los Alamitos saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rowan Shelley, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Los Alamitos has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season. As for Corona del Mar, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-10.

While Los Alamitos had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
