Park City is a perfect 5-0 against Hillcrest since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Miners will be playing at home against the Huskies at 3:30 p.m. Park City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.

Park City is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Bear River just ended the team's 13-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Miners have suffered since May 15, 2024.

Park City got a good showing from Mason Mendoza, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Mendoza has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Royal Matthews made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Hillcrest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-0 to Park City, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Park City, their loss dropped their record down to 16-4.

Hillcrest's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Park City has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Hillcrest, though, as they've been averaging only 3.1 strikeouts. Will Park City keep running through batters, or will the Huskies buck the trend?

Everything went Park City's way against Hillcrest when the teams last played on Wednesday, as Park City made off with an 11-0 win. Do the Miners have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
