Basketball Recap: Southwestern Finds Home Court Redemption Against Clarksville + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Southwestern, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past the Clarksville Generals 55-32 on Tuesday. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Generals recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Southwestern can attribute much of their success to Olivia Simpson, who went 5-for-8 on her way to 16 points in addition to three steals and three blocks. Those 16 points gave Simpson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Nussbaum, who posted two points along with eight boards, seven assists, and six steals.

Southwestern smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 16 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Clarksville still got an impressive performance from Tiarra Lewis, who shot 45% from the field en route to 10 points and three steals. Aaliyah Watts also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Southwestern now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Clarksville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Southwestern will venture away from home to square off against South Dearborn at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Clarksville, they will host Austin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
