Baseball Preview: Central A & M Raiders vs. Tuscola Warriors
Central A & M is on a three-game streak of home losses, Tuscola a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Central A & M Raiders will take on the Tuscola Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Tuscola took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Central A & M, who comes in off a win.
After low-scoring totals in their previous five contests, Central A & M brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They skirted past Unity Christian 10-8. The victory was just what Central A & M needed coming off of a 10-0 loss in their prior contest.
Marshall Minott made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (he also only allowed one walk). Minott was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, Gavin Houchins was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. Anthony Burns was another key contributor, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Tuscola fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Arthur-Okaw Christian on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Conquering Riders by a score of 11-9.
Central A & M's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-16. As for Tuscola, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.
