Baseball Recap: Verona Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Verona ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Madison La Follette Lancers 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Verona pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Madison La Follette, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16-1.

Looking ahead, Verona will venture away from home to take on Oregon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Madison La Follette, they will take on Janesville Craig at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
