Baseball Recap: West Ranch Wildcats vs. Crean Lutheran Saints
With a playoff win on the line, West Ranch rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They never let the Crean Lutheran Saints get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won six games in a row.
Matthew Castrellon looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, West Ranch got a massive performance out of Connor Clayton, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits Clayton has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Landon Hu, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
