Basketball Recap: North Decatur Chargers vs. Batesville Bulldogs
North Decatur lost against Batesville back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The North Decatur Chargers took a 66-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Batesville Bulldogs.

Despite the defeat, North Decatur saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Owen Rennekamp went 6 of 7 on his way to 17 points and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rennekamp has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Parmer, who posted 11 points.
Batesville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cade Kaiser, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. What's more, Kaiser also racked up five steals, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brayden Maple, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
North Decatur's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Batesville, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
North Decatur has already played their next contest, a 57-44 win against Tri on the 1st. As for Batesville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 72-64 victory against Hauser on the 1st.
